Whew, Windows XP, eh? I’m not sure if Opera even had adblock installed in that early of a version. However, you can try the uBlock Origin blocker. It’s an extension directly on Opera’s website: https://addons.opera.com/en/extensions/details/ublock/

I needed this version for a secondary PC that needs to run Windows XP (32 bit Pro). I want to turn off the bullt-in adblocker, but there is no option to do this on any of the menus/settings that you mention or any of the others that I have looked at. So, my question is HOW can I turn off this feature? (In case you are wondering why I would want to, it is because it appears to be slowing down or stalling my access to a news Web site {Seattle Times} that I previously had no trouble with. The site breaks up the text of its news article pages with 3 or 4 ads per page). Until recently, I used Firefox as my default browser, but it is now unable to access some sites – including seattletimes.com
