John, thank you for your comments. You’re right, WordPress is definitely popular and does it make itself a target. However, the same popularity also gives it the support behind it. There is tons of information about how to use WordPress to build, manage and grow your online presence. There is a reason why WordPress trumps all of the other options out there.

Comment on ‘Window Socket’: Power your gadgets with a solar-powered window plug! by Brian https://www.greengeeks.com/blog/window-socket-power-your-gadgets-with-a-solar-powered-window-plug/#comment-32034 Mon, 20 Jun 2022 23:47:50 +0000 http://greengeeks.com/blog/?p=1040#comment-32034 This is a poorly conceived concept. In order to produce 100W for 10 hours, it needs at least 1kWh of battery. Even with lithium-ion batteries, this would make it the size of a lunchbox.

On top of that, the solar array is so tiny that it’d take *months* to charge that battery.

It’s sad that the designer didn’t bother to do the math.

Comment on Wix or WordPress: What Has the Better Platform for SEO? by Jack Dobbs https://www.greengeeks.com/blog/wix-or-wordpress-seo/#comment-31365 Tue, 15 Feb 2022 19:30:51 +0000 https://www.greengeeks.com/blog/?p=26932#comment-31365 Excellent description of the differences between the two products. My understanding though is that WordPress is far more robust in terms of the number of versatile plug-ins and resulting power.. With power being focused on critical dichotomous factors such as superior SEO rankings (with the Awesomeness of Yoast as a prime example) and the overall need for computing speed and computing responsiveness. The challenge for many newer people including myself is the decisions between the sometimes rather steep learning curve required, and the financial resources and/or the availability of community of Word Press resources that can be accessed to provide learning assistance and support. Or, stated another way, finding the balance, or sweet spot, or the trade-offs between time and money. Jack Dobbs.
